Well, how did we get here?, 'sips wine'

Welcome to “Science Meets Wine”, a seed that flew into my world almost two years ago. Birthed by a deep search for community, but also from thinking about the kind of environments I want to exist in, as well as continue to create for myself. And well, here we are, learning to co-exist and co-create with these two beautiful things…

Over the years, I started to notice how people around and those that 'know' me me seem to understand my love for wine. So one day, I decided to be melodramatic (again 😆) and ask myself: why do I love wine so much? What does my relationship with wine look like?

Wine reminds me to breathe. To slow down. To celebrate a friend’s birthday. To celebrate existence. The highs and lows. To just take a sip, pause, and connect with life.

I realized and felt that the process of winemaking somewhat mirrors my own journey. A girl from the dusty, beautiful roads and landscapes of rural South Africa, I continue to age like fine wine. My taste matures, my wisdom blossoms, and I refine myself with time. Every sip whispers: everything is fine.

So science:

“Science, ours is a beautiful story of love in its purest form”. I’ve loved science and learning for as long as I can remember. I was that kid who’d always ask why over and over, leaving most adults puzzled. Science feeds my curiosity and shapes most parts of my life; it’s what I do, and who I am ✨.

  So here we are: wine, science, life, curiosity. This blog is my playground, a space to explore these loves with you.

  We’ll have conversations. We’ll wander freely. We’ll have ‘ScienceMeetsWine’, ‘ScienceMeetsFashion’, ‘ScienceMeetsLove’, and… well, everything else that sparks curiosity.
